Geotechnical Engineer with more than 10 years of experience ranging from professional services to academic research. He served as a Project Manager on various types of geotechnical services including earthwork, foundation/floor slab design, pavement evaluation/design, dynamic analysis, earth retaining structure design, site characterization, soil stabilization, and subsurface exploration.
Relevant Experience
Mr. Savigamin has been involved with FDOT D4, D6, MDX, Miami-Dade County, Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA), projects.
SR 5/US-1/Overseas Highway from MM 108.4 to MM 112.8- FDOT D6 - FPID No. 446005-1-52-01
Monroe County, Florida.
The project consisted of the evaluation of a crack along a segment of Gilberts Resort Drive, from Sta. 1241+10.38 to Sta. 1231+93.59 and determine the cause of the pavement cracking and provided alternatives for the repair of the pavement/embankment.
In addition, HRES performed a total of 98 SPT borings and 134 pavement cores for this final exploration. A total of 47 SPT borings were performed along the northbound, 31 SPT borings along the southbound, 16 SPT borings along Ramp E, and 4 SPT borings along Ramp F. The asphalt thickness and limerock fill below the asphalt were reported. The actual base/subbase thicknesses were reported where available.
Provided all final field exploration and geotechnical design of the project, roadway, and pavement cores for pavement design.

SR 5/US-1 Long Key Bridge over Long Key Channel – FDOT D6 - FPID No. 448206-1-22-01
Monroe County, Florida.
The project consists of the preparation of 30% project design plans for both a new bridge and roadway reconstruction for the planned design-built teams. Based on new FDOT requirements, all geotechnical services need to reach 100% completion. The project consists of land and overwater geotechnical field exploration. All land work has been completed and the water work will start in the winter of 2023. The water work will be conducted for 70 new bridge piers. At each pier location one SPT boring and rock core borehole will be performed. A preliminary geotechnical report has been submitted for preliminary pier foundations.

SR 5/ Overseas Highway Over Channel 5 Bridge #900098 Rehabilitation- FDOT D6 -FPID No. 436523-1-52-01
Monroe County, Florida.
This project consists of the repair of the existing bridge piers having concrete cracking/spalling of the column piers. The geotechnical scope consists of the performance of SPT and rock cores at 8 selected locations. The geotechnical information provided by the boreholes will be used to back calculate the actual capacity of the drilled shafts supporting the bridge as an attempt to determine if additional loading can be placed on the existing foundation.
