Since he started with HRES, Mr. Valencia has participated in over 200 geotechnical projects. He performs laboratory testing including sieve analyses, organic content, liquid limits, LBR tests and Proctors. Mr. Valencia holds the Drilled Shaft FDOT Inspector Certification and has performed numerous drilled shaft, augercast and micropile construction inspections for numerous FDOT projects.

 

 

SR 5/US-1 Long Key Bridge over Long Key Channel – FDOT D6 - FPID No. 448206-1-22-01

 

Monroe County, Florida.

Mr. Valencia’s involvement included field exploration coordination, underground utility clearance and laboratory testing. The project consists of land and overwater geotechnical field exploration. All land work has been completed and the water work will start in the winter of 2023. The water work will be conducted for 70 new bridge piers. At each pier location one SPT boring and rock core borehole will be performed. A preliminary geotechnical report has been submitted for preliminary pier foundations.

SR 5/ Overseas Highway Over Channel 5 Bridge #900098 Rehabilitation- FDOT D6 -FPID No. 436523-1-52-01

 

Monroe County, Florida.

Mr. Valencia’s involvement included field exploration coordination, underground utility clearance and laboratory testing. This project consists of the repair of the existing bridge piers having concrete cracking/spalling of the column piers. The geotechnical scope consists of the performance of SPT and rock cores at 8 selected locations.

SR 874/Killian Parkway Interchange, From HEFT to SW 88th Street/MDX – Task No. 87404

 

Miami-Dade County, Florida.

HRES performed the final field exploration and geotechnical design for three bridge widening. Bridge over SR 874 continuous span structure with span length of 240 feet. The deck (concrete) and the steel structure were built together. The project has roadway widening, MSE walls, miscellaneous structures and 28,000 linear feet of noise walls. Mr. Valencia’s involvement included field exploration and MOT coordination, underground utility clearance and laboratory testing. The project consisted of the performance of 250 auger borings, 200 noise wall borings, 14 bridge borings and 10 sign structure borings. The project has roadway widening, MSE walls, miscellaneous structures and 28,000 linear feet of noise walls.

I-95 Managed Lanes, from SR 112 to Golden Glades Interchange/FDOT, D 6 Design Build – FPID No. 415456-1-52-01

 

Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Design (completed, 2009) – HRES provided all the final field exploration and geotechnical design of the project. Mr. Valencia’s involvement included field exploration and MOT coordination, underground utility clearance and laboratory testing. Mr. Valencia also provided drilled shaft and micropile inspections during construction.

SR 826/SR 836 Palmetto Expressway/Dolphin Expressway Interchange Complex/FDOT, D6 Design Build - FPID No. 249581-1-52-01

Miami-Dade County, Florida

Reconstruction of entire interchange, including 46 new bridges (4 of them are segmental bridges), embankments, MSE walls and miscellaneous structures. Provided all the final field exploration and geotechnical design of the project. Mr. Valencia coordinated the drilling effort of this project. His involvement included field exploration and MOT coordination, underground utility clearance and laboratory testing. The project consisted of the performance of 200 auger borings, 193 MSE wall borings, 100 bridge borings and 48 miscellaneous structure borings. Mr. Valencia is also providing drilled shaft and augercast pile inspections during construction

Mr. Valencia’s involvement with this project included field exploration and MOT coordination, underground utility clearance and laboratory testing. The project consisted of the performance of 68 roadway borings, 72 hand auger borings, 14 tripod borings, 81 wall borings, and 5 bridge borings (alligator and wildlife crossings).
